Smoothin Groovin: Balkan special | TRU:L & Kali

TRU:L invites Kali for a special edition of Smoothin Groovin, highlighting the diversity of sounds coming from the Balkans, with special attention to Roma music from the region.

Together, they explore the situation in Romania, where they are both originally from, diving into the cultural and social realities of their homeland, blending music and conversation.

Kali (Mihaela Drăgan) is a Roma multidisciplinary artist with an education in theatre who lives in Bucharest and works in several other countries. In the past years she developed Roma Futurism – an art movement that lies at the intersections of Roma culture, technology and witchcraft.

In 2022, together with Niko G. she released the first feminist trap music album from Romania – Techno Witches.
